today is tumpek landep

this day 30 September 2006, this day every balinese hindus will make an offering for sang hyang pasupati as Lord of heirlooms, for the creation of metal goods.

With these offerings, special prayers are said to pray to God so that these material things continue to be strong and bring good fortune to their owners.

Within the family temples where heirlooms such as krisses (wavy double-bladed daggers) and other weapons are kept, offerings are made to ensure the continued magical power of these implements.

Offerings are also given to any kind of vehicles after being cleaned. It would be a good opportunity for travelers to Bali to witness how thousands of cars, motorbikes and other metal items are fully decorated with the offerings and ornaments made from young coconut leaves.

Balinese Traditional Cake ( Jaja bali)

you can't find this cake at your restourant, this is traditional balinese cake so i suggest you to go to the traditional market to find it, or ask local people where you can get this jaja bali.

the triangle cake is called jaja lupis (lupis cake), the black is made from black rice called ijin (jaja injin), the red cake is batu bedil (bullet cake), the green round cake is called laklak and the brown ball cake is klepon, all served with balinese sugar, so the taste is very sweet.
